Ownership of content and how to report copyright concerns.
Version: 1.0
Effective: 25 September 2026 · Last updated: 25 September 2026
This Copyright & Intellectual Property Policy explains ownership of content and intellectual property made available through Edvias, your responsibilities when uploading or sharing content, and how copyright or intellectual property concerns may be reported.
Edvias is a business name and brand operated by Arzaro Holdings Pty Ltd (ABN 31 701 933 771) ("Edvias", "we", "us" or "our").
This Policy should be read together with our Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, AI & Academic Integrity Policy and Community Guidelines.
You retain ownership of the original content and intellectual property rights that you own in material you create, upload, submit, post or share through Edvias ("User Content"), including assignments, documents, notes, study materials, images, files, messages and other materials.
Edvias does not claim ownership of your original User Content merely because you upload, submit or share it through the Services.
Your use of Edvias does, however, grant us the limited rights necessary to provide and operate the Services, as described in our Terms & Conditions.
Those rights may include hosting, storing, copying, reproducing, processing, analysing, adapting, transmitting and displaying User Content where reasonably necessary to provide, operate, secure or support the Services.
Where you choose to share User Content with other users or make it available through a Study Group, Group Assignment, discussion, messaging or other collaborative feature, you authorise Edvias to make that content available to the users or audience you select, subject to the Terms & Conditions and your applicable settings.
Edvias does not acquire the right to sell your User Content or license it to third parties for their independent commercial purposes merely because you upload or submit it to the Services.
You must only upload, submit, post or share content where you:
You must not knowingly use Edvias to upload, reproduce, distribute, communicate or otherwise use material in a manner that infringes another person's copyright, trade mark or other intellectual property rights.
The fact that material is available online, provided for educational purposes or used in connection with study does not automatically mean that it may be copied or shared without restriction.
Australian copyright law contains exceptions that may permit certain uses in particular circumstances, including fair dealing for research or study, but whether an exception applies depends on the circumstances. Federal Register of Legislation
You remain responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights or legal basis to use content you submit to Edvias.
Except for User Content, third-party materials, and intellectual property owned by or licensed from our technology and service providers, Arzaro Holdings Pty Ltd owns or has the right to use the intellectual property associated with Edvias and the Services.
This may include, without limitation:
Edvias is built and operated using third-party technology and services, including Base44. Nothing in this Policy claims ownership of Base44's or any other third party's underlying platforms, software, technology, intellectual property or proprietary materials.
Your use of Edvias does not transfer ownership of Edvias intellectual property or third-party intellectual property to you.
Edvias may contain, process, link to or enable users to submit content owned by third parties.
Ownership of third-party content remains with the applicable rights holder.
The presence of third-party material on or through Edvias does not mean that Edvias owns that material or grants you rights to use it outside the permissions provided by the relevant rights holder or applicable law.
Edvias provides artificial intelligence and other digital learning tools that may generate or assist with content.
AI-generated output may contain inaccuracies and, in some circumstances, may resemble or contain material associated with third-party content.
You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated or AI-assisted output before relying on, submitting, publishing or commercially using it.
Nothing in this Policy guarantees that AI-generated output is unique, capable of copyright protection, or free from third-party intellectual property rights.
Your use of AI features is also subject to the Edvias AI & Academic Integrity Policy and our Terms & Conditions.
If you believe that content available through Edvias infringes copyright or another intellectual property right that you own or are authorised to represent, you may submit a complaint through our Contact page or contact:
support@edvias.com
Please provide sufficient information for us to understand and assess the complaint, including:
We may request additional information or evidence where reasonably necessary.
Submitting false, misleading or fraudulent complaints may result in appropriate action and may have legal consequences.
When Edvias receives a sufficiently detailed copyright or intellectual property complaint, we may investigate the matter and take action we consider reasonably appropriate having regard to the circumstances and applicable law.
This may include:
The submission of a complaint does not automatically establish that infringement has occurred.
Where applicable law requires a particular notice, counter-notice, takedown or restoration procedure, Edvias will handle the matter in accordance with those requirements.
Australian copyright legislation does contain formal takedown and counter-notice procedures for certain qualifying service providers and activities. Federal Register of Legislation
Removing content may affect other users where the content forms part of a Study Group, Group Assignment, discussion, shared resource or other collaborative activity.
Where a copyright or intellectual property complaint concerns collaborative content, Edvias may restrict, remove or preserve relevant material as reasonably necessary while assessing the complaint.
Nothing in this section prevents Edvias from removing or disabling access to material where required by applicable law.
Users must not repeatedly or seriously infringe the intellectual property rights of others through Edvias.
Where we reasonably determine that a user has repeatedly or seriously infringed intellectual property rights, we may take appropriate action in accordance with our Terms & Conditions, including:
The Australian Copyright Act's statutory limitation-of-remedies regime also expressly includes a repeat-infringer policy as a condition for service providers seeking the benefit of that regime. Federal Register of Legislation
