This AI & Academic Integrity Policy explains how AI features within Edvias should be used responsibly and outlines the expectations for all users when using AI-generated content.

This Policy forms part of the Edvias Terms of Use and applies to all AI-powered features offered through the Edvias platform.

By using Edvias AI features, you agree to comply with this Policy.

Edvias is built to help students:

You remain responsible for:

• your examination responses;
• your research;
• your citations;
• your academic decisions;
• verifying AI-generated information;
• complying with your institution's academic integrity policies.

Using AI does not transfer responsibility to Edvias.

Users must act honestly and ethically when using Edvias. You must comply with the academic integrity requirements of your:

Different institutions have different rules regarding AI use. It is your responsibility to understand and comply with those rules.

• submit AI-generated work where prohibited;
• commit plagiarism;
• cheat during examinations;
• bypass academic integrity requirements;
• fabricate research or references;
• generate fraudulent documents;
• engage in academic misconduct;
• harass or threaten others;
• produce unlawful content;
• violate another person's intellectual property rights.

Attempts to misuse Edvias may result in suspension or termination of your Account.

Copying AI-generated content directly into assignments without appropriate attribution or in breach of your institution's rules may constitute plagiarism or other academic misconduct.

Users are responsible for ensuring that any work submitted is consistent with the requirements of their educational institution.

Edvias does not determine whether attribution is required. Those requirements are determined by your school, university or other relevant authority.

AI-generated citations and references should always be verified. Edvias cannot guarantee that:

• references exist;
• page numbers are correct;
• quotations are accurate;
• citations follow institutional requirements.

Users should independently verify all sources before submission.

Edvias must not be used in any examination, test or assessment where the use of AI is prohibited. This includes any assessment where:

• AI assistance is not permitted;
• unauthorised assistance is prohibited;
• examination rules forbid external tools.

Users are solely responsible for complying with examination rules.

Edvias may provide:

• grammar suggestions;
• spelling corrections;
• readability improvements;
• structural feedback;
• tone suggestions;
• writing advice.

Users remain responsible for ensuring that submitted work reflects their own learning and complies with institutional requirements.

AI coding assistance is intended to help users learn programming concepts. Users should:

• understand generated code;
• test generated code;
• review code for correctness;
• consider security implications.

Generated code may contain errors, vulnerabilities or inefficient solutions.

Mathematical, scientific and technical responses may contain mistakes. Users should independently verify:

• calculations;
• formulas;
• units;
• scientific conclusions;
• laboratory procedures;
• engineering advice.

AI-generated information should not replace professional supervision where required.

When users upload assignments, notes or images for analysis:

• only upload material you have the right to use;
• avoid uploading highly sensitive information unless necessary;
• ensure you have permission where required.

Edvias analyses uploaded content solely to provide the requested educational functionality, subject to the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.

Voice interactions are provided for convenience and accessibility. Speech recognition may not always accurately recognise words, accents or technical terminology. Users should review generated transcripts before relying on them.

Unless expressly stated, AI responses are generated automatically. Responses are not routinely reviewed by teachers, tutors or qualified professionals. Edvias AI should not be treated as personalised professional advice.

Users are encouraged to report AI responses that are:

• inaccurate;
• unsafe;
• offensive;
• discriminatory;
• misleading;
• harmful;
• technically incorrect.

Feedback helps us improve the platform over time.
